Card Model Geek

Ray Kleim has done it -- released a highly-detailed card model of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion. It is beautiful, and kicks my sorry ass up and down the block -- compare his to the one I just finished modifying. I'm putting off building it until I finish a couple other models that I've set aside. I'm a bit burnt out on Disneyland models after that train station.

Oh dear. Trader Sam is about to release a model of the Wicked Wench, the pirate ship from Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Check it out, along with some of his unreleased models, in his Flickr pool.

UPDATE: It's available now.

Haunted Mansion!

This model was designed by Peter, with modifications to the skin of the model done by me in Photoshop.

An extreme closeup of the weathervane I designed. That's two thicknesses of cardstock.

This should give you some idea how tiny the HO scale Disneyland train station model is. Yep, that's a quarter. Click on the pictures to see some of the tiny details.

Here is one of those famous "Waste Please" garbage containers, sitting on a penny.

It looks a tiny bit rough, but it's sitting on a penny, man!
